Corporal Hardy Chaloner Powell CHANDLER, 5th Battalion Canadian Infantry, is buried in Plot XVI, Row B, Grave 14.

He was killed in action on 26th or 27th September 1916 during operations at Thiepval during the Battle of The Somme.   He was 20 years old.

He is commemorated on the Cheltenham War Memorial and on the Cheltenham Grammar School Roll of Honour.   He is also commemorated on the Churchdown War Memorial and on the grave of his father in Cheltenham Cemetery.

His parents, Powell Richard William and Ann Elizabeth Chandler, resided at "The Highlands", Priory Street, Cheltenham.   His mother later moved to Mirfield House, Churchdown, Glos.

The inscription on Cpl Chandler's headstone reads "Youngest Son Of The Late Powell Chandler Of Cheltenham, Glos, Eng."

Private Frank GODSELL, 9th Battalion Royal Welsh Fusiliers, is buried in Plot Xv, Row H, Grave 2.

He was killed in action on 3rd July 1916 during operations in the village of La Boisselle during the Battle of The Somme.   He was 26 years of age.

Pte Godsell is commemorated on the Cheltenham War Memorial, the St Peter's Church War Memorial and on the Holy Trinity School Roll of Honour.

He is also commemorated on the Tumble (Carmarthenshire) War Memorial.

His parents, John and Rosetta Fanny Godsell, resided at 29 Brunswick Street, St Paul's, Cheltenham.
