Major James CARNEGY, 8th Battalion North
Staffordshire Regiment, is commemorated on a brass plaque in the church.
He was killed in action on 3rd July 1916 in the
Somme area of France. He has no known grave and is listed on
Thiepval Memorial To The Missing.
Major Carnegy is also commemorated on the family grave in Edge Churchyard (photo below).
